Last-minute Transfer of Diggers Cap to Toros

By UP Floorball Club

Goal Diggers' team captain, Nic Angeles, was transferred to the Los Toros last Saturday.

Last Saturday, the Los Toros was about to lose by default against the Fighting Macaroons, due to lack of one female player in the field. However, the Toros proposed a last-minute transfer of the Diggers' team captain, Nic Angeles, who was playing her last day for this season due to academic reasons.

The Toros and the Diggers agreed with the transfer but the approval of the Executive Committee and the rest of the team captains was required for approval.

After discussing the options whether to allow Angeles to transfer to Los Toros or not, the present execomm and team captains agreed to allow the Diggers' keeper and captain play her last match of the season with the Toros. The transfer was approved since the transaction was still within the transfer window, which will end on November 30.

However, there has been interesting points brought up during the deliberation against the approval of the transfer, such as last-minute transfer shouldn't be allowed. But based on the current rules of the player transfer, the only requirements were the agreement between the releasing and the giving team and the approval of the execomm.

In this regard, the execomm shall review the rules of transfer and create more specific rules in order to prevent such situations.

Note: Angeles is expected to return to the Goal Diggers next season.
