AIA Lions crush Diggers, complete 3-win streak

The Athletes in Action Lions remain undefeated this season as they triumph against the Goal Diggers, 5-0, highlighting their 3-winning streak. Lions' Rookie forward, Marco Ortiz, scored 2 goals and made an assist making him the man of the match. Two goals from Ralph Ramos and another from Marsel Bait, and a shutout game for Diony Hipolito secured their 5-0 victory against the Diggers.

Less than three minutes into the game, Ramos scored from a free-hit located right in front of the Diggers' defensive slot. This was followed by Ortiz’s successful shot with an assist from Ramos at 5:54. Seconds before the end of the first half (9:16), Ortiz scored another goal, giving the Lions a 3-0 lead in halftime.

Another Lions' rookie player, Marsel Bait scored the first goal early in the second half of the match (10:54). The last goal for the game was made by Ramos with an assist from Ortiz at 18:31. The Diggers failed to earn a goal past the Lions’ defense and goalkeeper, Diony Hipolito, making 4 saves.

From three consecutive wins in the season, Ortiz proves to be a valuable forward player. For the next set of games, the Goal Diggers will face Los Toros, while AIA Lions will play against the Angry Birds next Saturday at 11:30am and 12:00pm, respectively.
