It was an epic fight between Stik-O and Superfly as both teams unleashed their winning tactics against each other.

The game started with Ralph Ramos from Superfly scoring a fast goal against Stik-O, assisted by Bryan Bautista 54 seconds into the first period. After which, it was a clash of speed, sticks and flashing strikes as each team attempted to hold their defenses and take a shot at the opponent's goal. Both team's goalkeepers were obviously pressed but successful in thwarting these attempts, with Liam Canlas from Stik-O successfully blocking 6 goals and Nathan Nogales from Superfly saving 3 goals.

What was an intense game turned into a fiery match of the demigods as both teams became pumped for the second period. This was quickly followed by Paolo Rentero who scored Stik-O's second goal 16 minutes into the game. Though his victory was somewhat diminished instantly due to an incurred bench penalty, team Stik-O was able to hold off against Superfly, ending the second period in a draw.

The tiebreaker period proved who deserved a spot for the battle for first place. One minute and eighteen seconds into the tiebreaker round, Ralph Ramos, assisted by Joco Navarro, sealed the game with a hat trick, getting his team a chance to battle to the top.

UP Floorball League Champion Blades of 4ury finishes season with untarnished record

The Blades of 4ury held on to defeat the Superfly, completing a full season sweep and takes home the UP Floorball League Season 3 Championship.

Defense played a big part on both sides early on with veteran Saldio Amador heading Superfly’s backcourt while Luis Manila and Miguel Dimacali held the line for the Blades. Little space was given for long shot attempts and between the two teams, there were only 5 clean attempts at the goal in the half.

Marco Ortiz gave the Blades the early lead at 2:37 as he turned a rebound off a defensive miscue by the Superfy into a shot from point-blank that the Superfly’s Bryan Bautista had little chance to stop. Ramos answered at the 5:24 mark by stuffing a wrap-around past the Blades’ Fra Silva to tie the game up. Ortiz would however score again with just over a minute left in the half, taking advantage of a pass from Ivan Isada to break the tie.

The Blades’ stepped up their offense in the second half, putting the pressure on the Superfly. But Bryan Bautista responded in lieu of Nathan Nogales’ absence, turning in a strong 6 save performance in the half. Unfortunately for the Superfly, Luis Manila sped past the defense on a fastbreak, converting a signature air-hook move to put the Blades up by two.

The Superfly managed to throw in one more goal as Ramos tipped in a crosscourt pass by Joco Navarro to cut the lead back to one, but the stifling defense of the Blades allowed only one other clean attempt in the half, holding on for the 3-2 victory to win the UPFL Season 3 Championship.
