Manila's hat trick overcomes Diggers, 3-0

By UP Floorball Club

UP Diliman, Quezon City -- Luis Manila led his team's third victory for this season, 3-0, with a hat-trick goal.

Los Toros forward player, Luis Manila, starred in their match against the Goal Diggers snatching three goals that led to the Toros' third victory for this season, 3-0.

Even in the absence of their former captain and goalkeeper, Nic Angeles; the Diggers were able to effectively create a strong defense thwarting Toros attempts to a goal in the first half.

However, the Diggers’ lack of substitute players created an advantage for the almost complete Toros. The prolonged intense play exhausted the Diggers allowing their opponent to score three goals in the second half. Diggers goalkeeper, Alfie Guttierez, although able to save 8 goals, was not able to stop the first successful shot by Manila three minutes into the second half. This was followed at 5:00 with an assist from center player, Saldio Amador. As the match came to a close, the CHK faculty member made a third goal with a pass from Raymund Quiambao only moments before the buzzer rang.

With the strong defense they created in this match along with their victory over SBS, Goal Diggers showed great improvement from ranking last last season. The Goal Diggers will face the Fighting Macaroons, while Los Toros will face the Angry Birds in next Saturday’s matches at 11:30am and 12:30pm respectively.
